The picture below is my “You eat what?!” face when Kindal told me her secret ingredient to the best protein shake ever, but also the face I make when people ask “So do you count your calories every day and keep track of all of your macros for each meal?”

Because in all honesty, I haven’t owned a scale in 10 years, I have no idea what my daily caloric intake is, I definitely don’t keep track of every nutrition label on every food I eat….so then what do I eat? How do I keep my fitness and nutrition maintained without obsessing over every meal and every workout?

In today’s chat, Kindal and I will both share every single meal we have throughout the day along with what are workout schedule/routines are on a weekly basis. The funny thing about this chat is Kindal and I are both in the fitness/nutrition space, but when you hear what we both eat you will see that it our nutrition is completely different.

A few bullet points before we dive into this conversation:

  • There is no one size fits all nutrition which is why when you hear what Kindal eats and what I eat they are different, BUT it has taken years of listening to our bodies, trying out different macronutrient breakdowns, and really just paying attention to how we feel to figure out what nutrition leaves us feeling energized and fueled. Take the time to educate yourself, trying out different approaches then listen to your body and see what approach works best for you. Sometimes it’s High Protein, High Fat, Low Carb…other times it’s High Carb, High Protein, Low Fat, etc.
  • Your workouts work the exact same way. If a trainer tells you to lift heavy weights 5-6 days a week, but you know that you feel best lifting 4 days a week with 2 days on and 1 day off in between then follow that. Trainers and coaches are simply there to provide tools and suggestions based on our backgrounds and experience. However, the right coach will encourage you to listen to your own body and help you discover your OWN workout program that gets you in the shape you feel the strongest and most confident at.
  • We refer to macronutrients in this chat a lot if this is a new term for you then be sure to check out this article going over what macronutrients are and how to plan a meal according to your needs.
  • If anyone ever tries to tell you that “their” meal plan, workout program, or routine is the ONLY and BEST way. Then you should run. Your body is different than my body and I simply am here to help share what I know works for me and has worked for others in hopes to help empower you to discover what works for you.

Now that we’ve got that covered…let’s talk about What Trainers Really Eat and What Our Workouts Really Look Like:
